About the Role

As a member of the firmware team, you will be responsible for testing firmware, as well as designing complex tests to ensure that the code is robust and reliable. The tests will be for cutting edge gateway and connectivity systems, powertrain control systems, body controls systems, chassis systems and diagnostic systems.

  1. Deliver high-quality tests for the individual modules and the overall system - all written in Python
  2. Specify, design, and implement tests for functionality and behaviors of all embedded subsystems
  3. Be involved in the full life-cycle of test development from concept through integration and test deployment
  4. Hands-on hardware bringup and system debugging
  5. Do black-box testing of all systems
  6. Contribute to technical designs and ECU requirements, safety analysis, and interface design between various microcontrollers
  7. Interface with hardware and mechanical engineering teams, as well as clients and end-users of the products

Minimum Qualifications

  1. BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
  2. All levels of experience are needed.
  3. Must-have requirements for candidates include proficiency in the following areas/aspects:
    1. Python (greater than 1 year)
    2. Git version control system
    3. Computer Science principles like object oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
    4. Testing methodologies
    5. Basic networking concepts
    6. Microcontrollers and JTAG
    7. Hands-on experience with electrical circuits and basic circuit design and analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Plus if candidate has experience working on projects for student clubs and organizations like robotics club, SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), Solarboat, EV Club etc.
  2. Nice to have experiences:
    1. REST over HTTP
    2. Integration with CI/CD
    3. Multithreading and multiprocessing
    4. Low-level drivers (like SPI, ADC, PWM, CAN, LIN etc.)
    5. UDS
